He studied human medicine in Egypt, obtained a doctorate in physiology from Britain, was dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University, and served his people medically for more than 30 years. Dr. Omar Farwana, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University in Gaza, has tragically died along with 14 of his children and grandchildren in an Israeli airstrike which flattened their home to the ground in Gaza. Dr. Omar was 67 years old.
